Background:

Dale, better know as “Oscar” to the locals was born and raised in Berks County.  He started playing soccer for Conrad Weiser’s Youth Soccer Club in 1972.  Falling in love with the game at a very young age he learned how much the game of soccer can add to a child’s life.   He benefited from the coaches he had as a youth, they taught him how to be motivated and spirited while teaching.  He added to those talents by successfully earning his USSF “A” license after many years of coaching and studying the game of soccer.

Here are some of his thoughts on coaching; “When I first started coaching I thought it was my job to teach the technical and tactical parts of the game to children.  Over the years I’ve learned that there is much more to coaching this beautiful game.  Sharing my passion for the game and teaching things like, leadership, respect, honor, dealing with adversity, responsibility and sportsmanship are just a few of the things that help my players succeed on the field and later on in life.  I’m proud to say that many of my past players have went on to successfully coach High School and College teams; three of those players currently coach for the RAGE, but most importantly they have turned into adults who contribute to society and the community.  My job is much bigger than developing soccer players; I am helping to develop respectful successful adults.”
