Penn State striker Corey Hertzog, left, with M.L.S. Commissioner Don Garber. Hertzog was the Red Bulls’ top pick in last week’s league SuperDraft.


Corey will play alongside the likes of Juan Agudelo, Thierry Henry, and Marquez.

Josh Gros – 2000 Rage Graduate

College


After graduating from the Rage Soccer club Gros played college soccer at Rutgers University from 2000 to 2003. As a freshman, Gros started 15 matches and led the team with 7 assists. Upon moving to the offensive midfield as a junior, Gros’s production increased sharply and he finished the year with 6 goals and 1 assist. Gros far bettered this as a senior, finishing the year with 16 goals and 5 assists, and was named the Big East offensive player of the year. He was also chosen to National Player of the Week on 9/22/03, by College Soccer News.


Professional


Gros was selected 34th overall in the 2004 MLS SuperDarft by DC United, and immediately impressed during preseason, earning himself a spot on the regular season lineup. His excellent, determined play made him a starter for much of the year, playing midfield on either wing or left back. He finished the year with 21 starts and 2087 minutes, in which he scored a goal and notched four assists. Gros continued to start for United throughout the 2005 and 2006 seasons. In 2006, he was named an MLS All-Star and played the entire All Star Game against Chelsea.. He finished his career with 110 MLS appearences scoring 11 times during that time. 
International


Gros also represented with the U.S. National Team in a 2-0 victory over Mexico on February 7, 2007.


Josh is currently involved with the Philadelphia Union of the MLS as the team Coordinator. We are proud to have Josh as an Alumni of The Rage Soccer Club!

 

David Horst – 2003 Rage Graduate

College and Amateur


Horst graduated from the Rage in 2003 before playing college soccer at Old Dominion University. He also represented the Rage PDl team during this time and was named 2007 PDL Defensive Player of the Year.

Professional


Horst was drafted in the first round (14th overall) of the 2008 MLS SuperDraft by real Salt Lake. He made his full professional debut for RSL on 16 August, 2008 against the Houston Dynamo. Horst also spent time with USL 1 club Austin Aztex during the 2009 season.
During April 2010 Horst was sent out on loan to the Puerto Rico Islanders of the USSF Division 2 Professional League. He si currently still on the roster for Real Salt Lake in the MLS

Aaron Wheeler – Rage 2009

College and Amateur


Wheeler played three years of college soccer at Lenoir-Rhyne University before transferring to Towson University prior to his senior year. At Lenoir-Rhyne he was a two-time NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region First Team selection and a three-time All-South Atlantic Conference First Team member.
During his college years Wheeler also played for the represented the Rage in the PDL League. He was the 2009 PDL Most Valuable Player, and led the league in scoring, recorded a goal or an assist in 13 of 17 regular season and playoffs matches, and finished the 2009 campaign with 17 regular season goals.


Professional


Following the conclusion of the 2009 PDL season, Wheeler signed with the Vancouver Whitecaps. He trained with the first team, and played exhibition games with the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency PDL team.
Wheeler signed for the FC Tampa Bay in the USSF Division 2 Professional League in early 2010, and made his professional debut on April 16, 2010, in Tampa’s first-ever game, a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace Baltimore. He scored his first professional goal on May 19, 2010 in a 3-3 tie with the Austin Aztex.

Cody Cropper - Rage 2008

US U20 Mens National Team

Ipswich Town FC - England

Cody represented the Rage U17 team that played in the 2008 Super Y League National Final as well as representing the U20 mens team at the age of 15 years old. Cody was then selected the represent the US U20 Mens National Team and joined the residency program down in Bradenton. He recently signed professionally with Ipswich Town of the English Championship League. Ipswich Manager and Manchester United soccer legend, Roy Keane, thinks extremely highly of Cody. We wish him all the best with his future soccer career.
